This artwork by Toyohara Chikanobu achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2008. In the Asian Art auction, the work Unknown sold for EUR 2,000.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 1,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Toyohara Chikanobu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Scenes of beauties and farm life, which sold at auction in December 2021 for GBP 5,670.00 (€ 6,763.12).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 100 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Toyohara Chikanobu erzielte im Mai 2008 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Unknown für EUR 2.000,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 1.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Toyohara Chikanobu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Scenes of beauties and farm life beobachtet, die im Dezember 2021 für GBP 5.670,00 (€ 6.763,12) versteigert wurde.
