Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of the producer A.W. Stellwagen by Toon Kelder was sold in the Impressionist and Modern Art auction at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2013. It changed hands for a price of EUR 7,500.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Toon Kelder - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Encounter, which sold at auction in May 2006 for EUR 26,400.00.

Die Arbeit Portrait of the producer A.W. Stellwagen von Toon Kelder wurde im Mai 2013 in der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 7.500,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Toon Kelder mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Encounter beobachtet, die im Mai 2006 für EUR 26.400,00 versteigert wurde.
