In March 2007 Sothebys in Amsterdam held the auction Paintings, Drawings and Watercolours, which included the work A Standing Nude by Toon Kelder. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 5,040.00 68% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Toon Kelder have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Encounter in May 2006 with an auction result of EUR 26,400.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 68 % übertroffen
Im März 2007 führte Sothebys in Amsterdam die Auktion Paintings, Drawings and Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Standing Nude von Toon Kelder zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 5.040,00 und damit 68% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Toon Kelder auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Encounter im Mai 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 26.400,00.
