In March 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Made in Britain, which included the work Winter Forms by Tony O'Malley. The result of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,160.67) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tony O'Malley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Currach, Clare Island (Recto); Evening Landscape Tehidy Hospital (Recto); Figure (Verso) in March 2016 with an auction result of GBP 434,500.00 (€ 548,599.17).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im März 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Made in Britain durch, in der auch die Arbeit Winter Forms von Tony O'Malley zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.000,00 (€ 1.160,67) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tony O'Malley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Currach, Clare Island (Recto); Evening Landscape Tehidy Hospital (Recto); Figure (Verso) im März 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 434.500,00 (€ 548.599,17).
