Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Inscape 'Mozaga' by Tony O'Malley was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 20,549.28) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tony O'Malley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Currach, Clare Island (Recto); Evening Landscape Tehidy Hospital (Recto); Figure (Verso) in March 2016 with an auction result of GBP 434,500.00 (€ 548,599.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Inscape 'Mozaga' von Tony O'Malley kam im November 2019 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 20.549,28) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tony O'Malley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Currach, Clare Island (Recto); Evening Landscape Tehidy Hospital (Recto); Figure (Verso) im März 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 434.500,00 (€ 548.599,17).
