Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Online | New York, which included the work Weed #285 by Tony Matelli. The »bidding war« ended at USD 10,625.00 (€ 9,463.79), 18% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tony Matelli - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Lost & Sick, which sold at auction in September 2011 for USD 36,250.00 (€ 26,953.68).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Online | New York durch, in der auch die Arbeit Weed #285 von Tony Matelli zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 10.625,00 (€ 9.463,79) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Tony Matelli mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Lost & Sick beobachtet, die im September 2011 für USD 36.250,00 (€ 26.953,68) versteigert wurde.
