The work Contemplador del contemplador by Tomás Sánchez was sold in the Contemporary Day Auction auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2021. The »bidding war« ended at USD 315,000.00 (€ 279,082.13), 58% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Tomás Sánchez have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Llegada del caminante a la laguna in March last year with an auction result of USD 1,800,000.00 (€ 1,622,644.91).

Die Arbeit Contemplador del contemplador von Tomás Sánchez wurde im November 2021 in der Auktion Contemporary Day Auction bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 315.000,00 (€ 279.082,13) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tomás Sánchez auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Llegada del caminante a la laguna im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.800.000,00 (€ 1.622.644,91).
