Auction result well in line with expectations
In March this year Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Art, which included the work Caída de aguas y contempladores de luces by Tomás Sánchez. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 250,000.00 – 450,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 252,000.00 (€ 231,788.08) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Tomás Sánchez have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Llegada del caminante a la laguna in March last year with an auction result of USD 1,800,000.00 (€ 1,622,644.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Caída de aguas y contempladores de luces von Tomás Sánchez zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 250.000,00 – 450.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 252.000,00 (€ 231.788,08) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tomás Sánchez auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Llegada del caminante a la laguna im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.800.000,00 (€ 1.622.644,91).
