Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Basura de colores bajo la tormenta by Tomás Sánchez was sold in the Latin American Art auction at Christies in New York in September this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 214,200.00 (€ 202,380.95) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Tomás Sánchez have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Llegada del caminante a la laguna in March last year with an auction result of USD 1,800,000.00 (€ 1,622,644.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Basura de colores bajo la tormenta von Tomás Sánchez wurde im September diesen Jahres in der Auktion Latin American Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 214.200,00 (€ 202.380,95) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tomás Sánchez auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Llegada del caminante a la laguna im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.800.000,00 (€ 1.622.644,91).
