Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled (Working Drawing For Walkway) by Toba Khedoori was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 12,500.00 (€ 9,898.64). Admittedly, works by Toba Khedoori have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Fragments) in May 2002 with an auction result of USD 65,725.00 (€ 70,376.91).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled (Working Drawing For Walkway) von Toba Khedoori im September 2014 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 12.500,00 (€ 9.898,64) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Toba Khedoori auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Fragments) im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 65.725,00 (€ 70.376,91).
