Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction Important Old Master Paintings Including European Works of Art, which included the work The Penitent Magdalene by Tiziano Vecellio. The price achieved of USD 4,521,000.00 (€ 3,046,290.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000,000.00 – 6,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Tiziano Vecellio have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Sacra Conversazione: The Madonna And Child With Saints Luke And Catherine Of Alexandria in January 2011 with an auction result of USD 16,882,500.00 (€ 12,309,515.13).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Important Old Master Paintings Including European Works of Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Penitent Magdalene von Tiziano Vecellio zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.521.000,00 (€ 3.046.290,68) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000.000,00 – 6.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tiziano Vecellio auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Sacra Conversazione: The Madonna And Child With Saints Luke And Catherine Of Alexandria im Januar 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 16.882.500,00 (€ 12.309.515,13).
