Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Saint Margaret by Tiziano Vecellio was sold in the Master Paintings Evening Sale auction at Sothebys in New York in February 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000,000.00 – 3,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,175,000.00 (€ 1,781,180.90) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Tiziano Vecellio have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Sacra Conversazione: The Madonna And Child With Saints Luke And Catherine Of Alexandria in January 2011 with an auction result of USD 16,882,500.00 (€ 12,309,515.13).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Saint Margaret von Tiziano Vecellio wurde im Februar 2018 in der Auktion Master Paintings Evening Sale bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000.000,00 – 3.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.175.000,00 (€ 1.781.180,90) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tiziano Vecellio auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Sacra Conversazione: The Madonna And Child With Saints Luke And Catherine Of Alexandria im Januar 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 16.882.500,00 (€ 12.309.515,13).
