This artwork by Tim Maguire achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Sydney in May 2007. In the Important Australian Art Including Works from the Qantas Collection auction, the work The Pioneers sold for AUD 26,400.00 (€ 16,232.87) - well above the upper estimate of AUD 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tim Maguire achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled 1997 in November 2003 with an auction result of AUD 329,000.00 (€ 198,469.70).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 76 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Tim Maguire erzielte im Mai 2007 bei Sothebys in Sydney einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Important Australian Art Including Works from the Qantas Collection wurde die Arbeit The Pioneers für AUD 26.400,00 (€ 16.232,87) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von AUD 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tim Maguire erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled 1997 im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 329.000,00 (€ 198.469,70).
