Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled 20051201 by Tim Maguire was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Sothebys in Sydney in November 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 90,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 93,600.00 (€ 56,384.31) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tim Maguire - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled 1997, which sold at auction in November 2003 for AUD 329,000.00 (€ 198,469.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled 20051201 von Tim Maguire wurde im November 2007 in der Auktion Important Australian Art bei Sothebys in Sydney versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 90.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 93.600,00 (€ 56.384,31) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Tim Maguire mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled 1997 beobachtet, die im November 2003 für AUD 329.000,00 (€ 198.469,70) versteigert wurde.
