Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2005 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Disorder And Consequence by Tim Maguire. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 2,000.00 – 4,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 2,390.00 (€ 1,498.87) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tim Maguire achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled 1997 in November 2003 with an auction result of AUD 329,000.00 (€ 198,469.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2005 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Disorder And Consequence von Tim Maguire zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 2.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 2.390,00 (€ 1.498,87) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tim Maguire erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled 1997 im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 329.000,00 (€ 198.469,70).
