Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Transsylvania by Till Gerhard was auctioned at Phillips in New York in May 2009, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 5,000.00 (€ 3,539.57). Admittedly, works by Till Gerhard have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Waldrand in February 2009 with an auction result of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 28,186.70).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Transsylvania von Till Gerhard im Mai 2009 bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 5.000,00 (€ 3.539,57) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Till Gerhard auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Waldrand im Februar 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 28.186,70).
