Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Küche I by Thoralf Knobloch was auctioned at Sothebys in London in June 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 18,000.00 – 25,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 16,800.00 (€ 24,930.36). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thoralf Knobloch - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Merkwürden, which sold at auction in June 2007 for GBP 36,000.00 (€ 53,422.19).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Küche I von Thoralf Knobloch im Juni 2007 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 18.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 16.800,00 (€ 24.930,36) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Thoralf Knobloch mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Merkwürden beobachtet, die im Juni 2007 für GBP 36.000,00 (€ 53.422,19) versteigert wurde.
