Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2006 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Miss Fanny Rundle by Thomas Sully. It changed hands for a price of USD 6,600.00 (€ 5,437.02) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Sully achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Thomas Jefferson in May 2003 with an auction result of USD 209,100.00 (€ 177,715.45).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2006 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Miss Fanny Rundle von Thomas Sully zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 6.600,00 (€ 5.437,02) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Sully erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Thomas Jefferson im Mai 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 209.100,00 (€ 177.715,45).
