Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Hermes; Aphrodite by Thomas Matthews Rooke was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2017. The price achieved of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 10,461.06) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by Thomas Matthews Rooke have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Clytie Turning Towards The Sun in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 45,600.00 (€ 67,676.11).

Die Arbeit Hermes; Aphrodite von Thomas Matthews Rooke kam im Juli 2017 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 9.375,00 (€ 10.461,06) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Thomas Matthews Rooke auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Clytie Turning Towards The Sun im Dezember 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 45.600,00 (€ 67.676,11).
