Auction result misses estimated price range
In January last year a collector was able to acquire the work Passion and Worship by Thomas Matthews Rooke for USD 7,560.00 (€ 6,742.78). This price was achieved in the auction The European Art Sale Part II at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Matthews Rooke achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Clytie Turning Towards The Sun in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 45,600.00 (€ 67,676.11).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Passion and Worship von Thomas Matthews Rooke für USD 7.560,00 (€ 6.742,78) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The European Art Sale Part II bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Matthews Rooke erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Clytie Turning Towards The Sun im Dezember 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 45.600,00 (€ 67.676,11).
