Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2013 Christies in London held the auction Victorian, British and Impressionist Art, which included the work Apollo And The Muses by Thomas Matthews Rooke. The price achieved of GBP 11,875.00 (€ 14,289.97) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Thomas Matthews Rooke have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Clytie Turning Towards The Sun in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 45,600.00 (€ 67,676.11).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2013 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian, British and Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Apollo And The Muses von Thomas Matthews Rooke zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 11.875,00 (€ 14.289,97) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Thomas Matthews Rooke auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Clytie Turning Towards The Sun im Dezember 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 45.600,00 (€ 67.676,11).
