It achieved a price of GBP 30,240.00 (€ 35,280.91), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 51%. Admittedly, works by Thomas Girtin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Durham Cathedral And Castle in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 265,250.00 (€ 318,933.24).

Die Arbeit Dryburgh Abbey, Berwickshire: The South Transept from the Cloister von Thomas Girtin kam im Juli diesen Jahres bei Christies in Paris zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 30.240,00 (€ 35.280,91) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 51%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Thomas Girtin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Durham Cathedral And Castle im Juli 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 265.250,00 (€ 318.933,24).
