Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Rustic Figures In A Landscape, With Pigs by Thomas Girtin was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2019. The price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,372.42) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Girtin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Durham Cathedral And Castle in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 265,250.00 (€ 318,933.24).
