Auction result well in line with expectations
In January last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Works on Paper from Five Centuries, which included the work Above Lyme Regis, looking across Marshwood Vale, Dorset by Thomas Girtin. The price achieved of USD 75,600.00 (€ 67,427.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 70,000.00 – 90,000.00. Admittedly, works by Thomas Girtin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Durham Cathedral And Castle in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 265,250.00 (€ 318,933.24).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Master Works on Paper from Five Centuries durch, in der auch die Arbeit Above Lyme Regis, looking across Marshwood Vale, Dorset von Thomas Girtin zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 75.600,00 (€ 67.427,76) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 70.000,00 – 90.000,00 angegeben worden.
