Sold at the lower estimate price
In July 2020 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & British Drawings & Watercolours, which included the work The interior of Exeter Cathedral by Thomas Girtin. The result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,731.36) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Girtin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Durham Cathedral And Castle in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 265,250.00 (€ 318,933.24).
