Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Thomas Eggerer was auctioned at Christies in New York in July 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,552.58). Admittedly, works by Thomas Eggerer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sweet Valley High in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 44,400.00 (€ 33,003.79).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Thomas Eggerer im Juli 2012 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 4.375,00 (€ 3.552,58) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Thomas Eggerer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sweet Valley High im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 44.400,00 (€ 33.003,79).
