Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2019 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Chantoir (Studies for an Open Air Singing and Declamation Chamber) by Thierry De Cordier. The price achieved of EUR 47,500.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 45,000.00 – 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Thierry De Cordier have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Tempête En Mer Du Nord, Étude No. 3 in October 2017 with an auction result of GBP 380,750.00 (€ 434,129.53).
