Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2011 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Impressionist and Modern Art, which included the work Stained-Glass Composition VIII by Theo van Doesburg. Here, the upper estimate of EUR 15,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 16,250.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Theo van Doesburg achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Contra-Composition Vii in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 4,184,000.00 (€ 3,110,086.97).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2011 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Stained-Glass Composition VIII von Theo van Doesburg zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 15.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 16.250,00 einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Theo van Doesburg erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Contra-Composition Vii im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.184.000,00 (€ 3.110.086,97).
