This price was achieved in the auction Impressionist & Modern Evening Sale at Christies in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 300,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Theo van Doesburg have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Contra-Composition Vii in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 4,184,000.00 (€ 3,110,086.97).

Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Theo van Doesburg auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Contra-Composition Vii im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.184.000,00 (€ 3.110.086,97).
