Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Cracked Rainbow Showers by Thaddeus Strode was auctioned at Phillips in London in October 2010, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,035.55). Admittedly, works by Thaddeus Strode have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Let Sleeping Gods Lie (The Eggs Cracked) in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 13,200.00 (€ 18,956.07).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Cracked Rainbow Showers von Thaddeus Strode im Oktober 2010 bei Phillips in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.035,55) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Thaddeus Strode auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Let Sleeping Gods Lie (The Eggs Cracked) im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.200,00 (€ 18.956,07).
