Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2012 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale), which included the work Scenery by the Lake by Teng-Hiok Chiu. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 80,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 87,500.00 (€ 8,676.02). Admittedly, works by Teng-Hiok Chiu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in November 2019 with an auction result of HKD 350,000.00 (€ 40,593.52).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2012 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Scenery by the Lake von Teng-Hiok Chiu zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von HKD 80.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für HKD 87.500,00 (€ 8.676,02) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Teng-Hiok Chiu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 350.000,00 (€ 40.593,52).
