Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2012 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale), which included the work After Rain, Ullapool, Scotland by Teng-Hiok Chiu. The price achieved of HKD 150,000.00 (€ 14,873.17) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Teng-Hiok Chiu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in November 2019 for HKD 350,000.00 (€ 40,593.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2012 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit After Rain, Ullapool, Scotland von Teng-Hiok Chiu zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 150.000,00 (€ 14.873,17) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 120.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Teng-Hiok Chiu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im November 2019 für HKD 350.000,00 (€ 40.593,52) versteigert wurde.
