A top price for Teng-Hiok Chiu - as previously expected
This work without title by Teng-Hiok Chiu was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 350,000.00 (€ 40,593.52) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, this work without title is the most expensive artwork by Teng-Hiok Chiu that we have observed at auctions so far.

Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Teng-Hiok Chiu kam im November 2019 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 300.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 350.000,00 (€ 40.593,52) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist dieses Werk ohne Titel das teuerste Kunstwerk von Teng-Hiok Chiu, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
