Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Bridge over River Shallows by Teng-Hiok Chiu was sold in the Chinese 20th Century Art (Day Sale) auction at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2010. The price achieved of HKD 40,000.00 (€ 3,952.13) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Teng-Hiok Chiu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in November 2019 with an auction result of HKD 350,000.00 (€ 40,593.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Bridge over River Shallows von Teng-Hiok Chiu wurde im November 2010 in der Auktion Chinese 20th Century Art (Day Sale) bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 40.000,00 (€ 3.952,13) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Teng-Hiok Chiu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 350.000,00 (€ 40.593,52).
