This artwork by Tai Xiangzhou achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2018. In the Chinese Contemporary Ink auction, the work Microcosm-Macrocosm sold for HKD 937,500.00 (€ 102,426.09) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 500,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Tai Xiangzhou; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Mountains and Streams sold at auction in May 2017 with the realized price of 240 200,000.00 (€ 177,999.29).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 88 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Tai Xiangzhou erzielte im Mai 2018 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Chinese Contemporary Ink wurde die Arbeit Microcosm-Macrocosm für HKD 937.500,00 (€ 102.426,09) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 500.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Tai Xiangzhou; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Mountains and Streams im Mai 2017 mit dem Hammerpreis von 240 200.000,00 (€ 177.999,29).
