Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Tai Xiangzhou could be acquired at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Genesis 12 changed hands for HKD 151,200.00 (€ 16,746.63) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 160,000.00 – 220,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tai Xiangzhou achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mountains and Streams in May 2017 with an auction result of 240 200,000.00 (€ 177,999.29).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Tai Xiangzhou konnte im Oktober 2020 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale wechselte die Arbeit Genesis 12 für HKD 151.200,00 (€ 16.746,63) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 160.000,00 – 220.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tai Xiangzhou erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mountains and Streams im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von 240 200.000,00 (€ 177.999,29).
