Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Spring Mountain after Rain by Tai Xiangzhou was sold in the Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings auction at Christies in Hong Kong in December 2020. The price achieved of HKD 687,500.00 (€ 72,516.35) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 550,000.00 – 750,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tai Xiangzhou - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mountains and Streams, which sold at auction in May 2017 for 240 200,000.00 (€ 177,999.29).

Die Arbeit Spring Mountain after Rain von Tai Xiangzhou wurde im Dezember 2020 in der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 687.500,00 (€ 72.516,35) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 550.000,00 – 750.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Tai Xiangzhou mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mountains and Streams beobachtet, die im Mai 2017 für 240 200.000,00 (€ 177.999,29) versteigert wurde.
