In May 2016 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Chinese Contemporary Ink, which included the work Celestial Chaos 2016-8 by Tai Xiangzhou. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 600,000.00 (€ 69,348.90), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tai Xiangzhou - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mountains and Streams, which sold at auction in May 2017 for 240 200,000.00 (€ 177,999.29).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2016 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Chinese Contemporary Ink durch, in der auch die Arbeit Celestial Chaos 2016-8 von Tai Xiangzhou zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 600.000,00 (€ 69.348,90) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Tai Xiangzhou mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mountains and Streams beobachtet, die im Mai 2017 für 240 200.000,00 (€ 177.999,29) versteigert wurde.
