Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by T. V. Santhosh could be acquired at Christies in New York in March last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Including Works from the Collection of Mahinder and Sharad Tak auction, the work Account Payable II changed hands for USD 15,120.00 (€ 13,630.22) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by T. V. Santhosh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Traces of an Ancient Error in March 2008 with an auction result of USD 337,000.00 (€ 213,223.66).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von T. V. Santhosh konnte im März letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Including Works from the Collection of Mahinder and Sharad Tak wechselte die Arbeit Account Payable II für USD 15.120,00 (€ 13.630,22) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von T. V. Santhosh erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Traces of an Ancient Error im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 337.000,00 (€ 213.223,66).
