Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work A Survivor'S Testimony by T. V. Santhosh for USD 13,750.00 (€ 11,709.10). This price was achieved in the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Including Works by Benodebehari Mukherjee from the Mrinalini Mukherjee Foundation at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by T. V. Santhosh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Traces of an Ancient Error in March 2008 with an auction result of USD 337,000.00 (€ 213,223.66).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2021 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A Survivor'S Testimony von T. V. Santhosh für USD 13.750,00 (€ 11.709,10) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Including Works by Benodebehari Mukherjee from the Mrinalini Mukherjee Foundation bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von T. V. Santhosh erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Traces of an Ancient Error im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 337.000,00 (€ 213.223,66).
