Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Your Terrorist, Our Freedom Fighter by T. V. Santhosh was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 18,750.00 (€ 16,001.02). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by T. V. Santhosh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Traces of an Ancient Error in March 2008 with an auction result of USD 337,000.00 (€ 213,223.66).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Your Terrorist, Our Freedom Fighter von T. V. Santhosh im September 2020 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 18.750,00 (€ 16.001,02) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von T. V. Santhosh erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Traces of an Ancient Error im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 337.000,00 (€ 213.223,66).
