Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Narrabeen Boatshed by Sydney Long was auctioned at Christies in Sydney in August 2004. The price achieved of AUD 4,780.00 (€ 2,774.31) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sydney Long achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian the Milkmaid in August 2008 with an auction result of AUD 67,200.00 (€ 39,227.87).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Narrabeen Boatshed von Sydney Long kam im August 2004 bei Christies in Sydney zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 4.780,00 (€ 2.774,31) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sydney Long erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian the Milkmaid im August 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 67.200,00 (€ 39.227,87).
