Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Sydney Long could be acquired at Christies in London in December 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern and Contemporary Australian and South African Art auction, the work Winter sunshine changed hands for GBP 2,500.00 (€ 2,625.73) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sydney Long achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian the Milkmaid in August 2008 with an auction result of AUD 67,200.00 (€ 39,227.87).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Sydney Long konnte im Dezember 2008 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Australian and South African Art wechselte die Arbeit Winter sunshine für GBP 2.500,00 (€ 2.625,73) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00.
