Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2017 Phillips in London held the auction New Now, which included the work Vacant Portrait by Stephen G. Rhodes. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,532.05) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Stephen G. Rhodes have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ssspecific Object in October 2013 with an auction result of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,819.92).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2017 führte Phillips in London die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit Vacant Portrait von Stephen G. Rhodes zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.250,00 (€ 2.532,05) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Stephen G. Rhodes auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ssspecific Object im Oktober 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.819,92).
