Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Art Online, which included the work Vacant Portraits: Bubbah S And Bobby J by Stephen G. Rhodes. The price achieved of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,362.33) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Stephen G. Rhodes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ssspecific Object, which sold at auction in October 2013 for GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,819.92).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.362,33) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Stephen G. Rhodes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ssspecific Object beobachtet, die im Oktober 2013 für GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.819,92) versteigert wurde.
