Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Self Portrait, 1912-14 by Stanislaw Ignacy Witkiewicz was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 42,000.00 (€ 32,510.26) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Stanislaw Ignacy Witkiewicz - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Weibliches Portrait, which sold at auction in June 2021 for EUR 112,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Self Portrait, 1912-14 von Stanislaw Ignacy Witkiewicz kam im April 2005 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 42.000,00 (€ 32.510,26) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Stanislaw Ignacy Witkiewicz mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Weibliches Portrait beobachtet, die im Juni 2021 für EUR 112.500,00 versteigert wurde.
