In June 2017 Christies in New York held the auction Living with Art, which included the work Portrait of Janina Propper by Stanislaw Ignacy Witkiewicz. The auction ended at the price of USD 15,000.00 (€ 13,145.21), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Stanislaw Ignacy Witkiewicz have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Weibliches Portrait in June 2021 with an auction result of EUR 112,500.00.
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Juni 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Living with Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of Janina Propper von Stanislaw Ignacy Witkiewicz zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 13.145,21) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Stanislaw Ignacy Witkiewicz auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Weibliches Portrait im Juni 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 112.500,00.
