Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March 2018 Christies in New York held the auction on paper | online, which included the work Study for the Morgan (A Certain Slant...) by Spencer Finch. The »bidding war« ended at USD 23,750.00 (€ 19,277.60), 19% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Spencer Finch - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work New York Boogie Woogie (Times Square, April 27, 2003, 10:07 Pm), which sold at auction in October 2018 for USD 68,750.00 (€ 60,668.90).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion on paper | online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Study for the Morgan (A Certain Slant...) von Spencer Finch zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 23.750,00 (€ 19.277,60) und damit 19% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Spencer Finch mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit New York Boogie Woogie (Times Square, April 27, 2003, 10:07 Pm) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2018 für USD 68.750,00 (€ 60.668,90) versteigert wurde.
