Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Lines In Four Directions by Sol LeWitt. It changed hands for a price of USD 394,000.00 (€ 353,839.25) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 300,000.00 – 400,000.00. Other works by Sol LeWitt have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in July 2015 the work Wavy Brushstrokes was auctioned for GBP 449,000.00 (€ 636,531.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2016 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lines In Four Directions von Sol LeWitt zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 394.000,00 (€ 353.839,25) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 300.000,00 – 400.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Sol LeWitt konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Juli 2015 die Arbeit Wavy Brushstrokes für GBP 449.000,00 (€ 636.531,19) versteigert.
