A top price for Sol LeWitt
This artwork by Sol LeWitt achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in July 2015. In the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction, the work Wavy Brushstrokes sold for GBP 449,000.00 (€ 636,531.19) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 150,000.00. This high result makes Wavy Brushstrokes the most expensive artwork by Sol LeWitt that we have observed at auctions so far.
